Many people want to learn an instrument but often don't have the resources to learn. Here is a short lesson showing you some tuning stuff, scales, beats, strumming and chord patterns. Remember to practice constantly!
Tuning
As with any instrument, it is very important to keep it in tune. As we talked about on the last lesson, the strings are E A D G B E. In order to keep these strings humming the right note you need a tuner. A tuner can come in many forms. From an electric tuner, to a piano, or even an online tuner. If you don't have a piano, or an electric tuner you can go to this online tuner to use their online tuner. It comes in really handy.
Scales
It's always important to practice all the time. When you're first starting off and want to get used to the guitar and movie your fingers around, I would suggest learning a simple scale. We are going to start off with a do-re-mi scale, also known as the C scale. You start off with you finger on the 3rd fret of the A string. Then you strum the open D string, followed by strumming with your finger on the 2nd fret, then on the 3rd. Now we move to the G string with an open strum and then a strum with your finger on the 2nd fret. Last but not lease, we strum the open B string and then with your finger on the 1st fret. You have now completed the do-re-mi scale! You have played the notes C D E F G A B C.
